Hummus

Ingredients

  • 32oz canned chickpeas

  • 4 large garlic cloves, peeled

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1 1/2 tbsp salt

  • 1 cup tahini

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1/8 tsp cumin

  • 1/4 tsp paprika

  • 1/4 tsp celery Seed

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 3 ice cubes

Method

  1. In the base of your blender or food processor add the tahini, garlic, water, and salt. Mix on high until the mixture is extremely smooth and creamy.

  2. Add in the chickpeas, lemon juice, ice, and spices (pepper, cumin, paprika, celery seed). Blend on high again for 2 minutes, pausing every 30 seconds to scrape down the sides.

  3. Once the hummus is smooth and creamy transfer to a sealable container. Drizzle with olive oil and paprika before serving.

  4. To store, place hummus in the fridge for up to 2 weeks! Enjoy :)

Notes
  • This is a fairly easy recipe, but it does the job extremely well. Make sure to cream the tahini first, with the garlic, water, and salt. That’s what is going to make your hummus so creamy.

  • Have fun with it and use your creativity to make it your own!
