Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

28 oz Whole San Marzano Tomatoes (canned)

1 Cup Fresh Basil (packed cup)

1/4 Cup Fresh Oregano

3 Large Garlic Cloves (peeled)

1/8-1/2 Tsp Red Chili Flakes (use as much or as little as you like)

Salt (to taste)

Pepper (to tase)

Method

  1. In a medium size pot, add the tomatoes, basil, oregano, garlic, and chili flakes.

  2. Place the pot on medium low heat and slowly bring to a simmer. Once simmering, reduce the heat to low and allow to cook covered for 2 hours. This will lead to a deeper flavor.

  3. After 2 hours, remove the oregano from the sauce and using an immersion blender or blender, blend the sauce until smooth.

  4. Once blended bring the sauce to a light boil and allow it to reduce for about 30 minutes on medium heat, this will thicken the sauce and allow it to act as a better, less watery sauce.

  5. Once reduced season with salt and pepper to taste and allow it to cool completely before using or storing in the fridge.

  6. Enjoy!
